“The Magnetic or electrostatic scale control technologies can be used as a replacement for most water-softening equipment:  Specifically, Chemical softening (lime or lime-soda softening), ion exchange, and reverse osmosis, when used for the control of hardness, could potentially be replaced by non-chemical water condition Technology.  This would include applications both to cooling water treatment and oiler water treatment in once –through and recalculating systems. 

Twelve years ago I was introduced to GMX Water Conditioning.  Customers have bought 81 sets from me over the years.  We offer with a set of GMX magnets a 90 day warranty, in which if you aren’t satisfied,  I have thirty days in which to make you=, the customer, happy or refund the full purchase price.  Of these 81 sets, I have returned the purchase price twice.  One customer was unhappy but would not let me remove the units and return his money.  “Worked, but not as he had expected”.

A GMX set consisted of three units originally, now the recommendation is four.  When this change of policy came down, I thought all the company wanted to do was sell more units.  My home had two water heaters.  Each already had one on the output of the hot water.  When I experimented and put a second on the upstairs unit, my wife started washing her hair upstairs.  She said it felt better.  This sold me and I have not made a presentation with three since.  My customers are satisfied, I am happy.

In areas of hard water (most everywhere), the hardness of water is due to the dissolving of minerals (mainly calcium and magnesium) and these chemicals remain in solution to be deposited when the flow is slowed or stagnated.

In our area, electric water heaters, due to the scale buildup, the lower heating elements need replacing at a rate of 1.5 to 2 years.  The scale build up is such that the efficiency of that element is reduced.  The scale insulates the element from the surrounding water.  This can and will create a 50 % waste in electrical energy.  Your water heater uses more energy than any one other appliance in your home.

The GMX system is non intrusive.  It simply clamps on the incoming water pipe and the magnetic field penetrates the pipe to treat the water.  Old iron and steel pipes absorb the magnetic field and the water is not affected.  It is necessary to replace a 12 -14 inch section of the iron pipe with copper or PVC.

Ionization of the water attracted chemicals occurs when water flows through a magnetic field.  Molecules are aligned in a uniform directional field. Water regains it solvency and will not allow the minerals to form hard crystals.

The regained solvency, allows the water to absorb those deposits that have already formed in the water system.  A customer of mine was down to a pencil diameter flow.  With the GMX system installed, his flow increased to the full ¾ inch pipe, saving him several thousand dollars for a replumbing system he thought would be needed.  He was so satisfied he had his office building water system treated with GMX magnets.
