•  The Winchester Model 70 was manufactured for 76 years (1936-2006) in New Haven, Connecticut.  The Winchester model 70 was factory chambered for 20 plus cartridges and 12 additional special order chamberings. 

• The final Winchester Model 70s have a stronger action than the early models, the head of the bolt encloses the head of the case, and a small neat hook extractor, which is entirely adequate.  The new model seldom gives feeding problems.
